Gas prices continue to rise across New York State and the country, but there is good news for us living here in Western New York, we have some of the cheapest gas in the state.

Gas Prices In New York State Skyrocket In March

The cost of a gallon of regular unleaded gas has jumped nearly $1 per gas from a month ago in New York State. At the end of February, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas was $3.002; this morning, according to AAA, that same gallon of gas is now priced at $3.917.

The war in Iran is being blamed for the rising cost of gas, and it doesn’t look like it will end soon, so we could see that price continue to rise.

Where You Can Find The Cheapest Gas In New York State

There is some good news for us Western New Yorkers: according to AAA, we have the cheapest gas prices in the entire state. In fact, the cheapest average gas price in New York can be found in Cattaraugus County. The average price there is $3.707.

Niagara and Chautauqua counties are also on the lower end of the start for the price of gas.

In Buffalo, the average price of gas is $3.876, which is the 4th lowest among major cities in New York State.
