The Greater Jamaica Development Corporation hosted its fifth annual “Women Who Lead” reception in honor of Women’s History Month on Tuesday, March 24, at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center, located at 153-10 Jamaica Ave. in Jamaica.

The event honored four women for the strong positive impact they have made on the Jamaica and southeast Queens communities. They were celebrated for their leadership, service and commitment to the community.
“Today we gather to recognize and uplift incredible women who are leading all industries, breaking barriers, creating lasting impacts in our communities,” Greater Jamaica Development Corporation President and CEO Justin Rodgers said. “We are proud to celebrate not just the accomplishments, but the influence and inspiration women bring to the next generation of leaders.
This year’s honorees included FS Vector Managing Principal Megan Hannigan, Office of New York City Council Member Nantasha Williams Deputy Chief of Staff Whitney Mulzac, New York City Department of Small Business Services Assistant Commissioner of Neighborhood Development Raquel Olivares and Bella Lulu’s Co-Founder and Managing Director Karen Calle.

Hannigan received the award for Excellence in Social Responsibility. Mulzac got the award for being a Champion of Advocacy and Public Service. Olivares was given the Community Impact Service Award and Calle received the Excellence in Business Award.
