As the tour name indicates, something Iconic is coming to Saratoga Springs in August.
TLC is headlining a concert featuring Salt-N-Pepa with En Vogue, bringing three mainstream acts from the ’90s and 2000s on stage together during their “It’s Iconic” tour. The three powerhouses in hip-hop and R&B music will play Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Aug. 27, Live Nation announced Monday.
TLC, named for the first initial of each of the three founding members, T-Boz (Tionne Watkins), Left Eye (Lisa Lopes) and Chilli (Rozonda Thomas), hit the height of their popularity in the early ’90s with songs like “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs.” Lopes died in a car crash in 2002, and after a hiatus, Watkins and Thomas started performing together.
Salt-N-Pepa, known for their hip-hop bops like “Whatta Man,” “Let’s Talk About Sex” and “Shoop,” were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year. En Vogue even joined the group on stage to perform during the induction ceremony in November.
Tickets for general audiences will go on sale starting Thursday. For more information, visit spac.org or livenation.com.
