Artists, cultural organizations and advocates gathered in the New York state Senate gallery in the state Capitol on Wednesday to call on state leaders to make a major investment in arts and cultural programs.Â
Specifically, advocates are looking for a $270 million investment in the New York State Council on the Arts, or NYSCA. Â
State Sen. Jose Serrano, chair of the Senate Committee on Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation, discussed the request with Capital Tonight host Susan Arbetter.
