A rising star of the stage, along with the small and silver screens, is taking the spotlight in his national tour debut in a production of “Les Misérables.”

Cree-Silver Corley, 9, born in Jamaica and raised in Long Island City, is playing Gavroche, a young revolutionary who lives on the streets of Paris in the Victor Hugo historical fiction novel.

Cree-Silver was featured in short films “Word” and “Jean & I,” which won multiple film festival awards last summer, said his spokesman. He was also featured in an episode of “Sesame Street” titled “Elmo’s Toy Swap,” which featured former Disney star Miley Cyrus and aired on Netflix on March 9.

He has also been in a few commercials.

Off stage, he does ballet, fences, sings and plays soccer.

“I feel blessed,” said Cree-Silver via email. “I worked very hard for four years to get the role and it was one of my dream roles. So I was and still am super excited.”

The New York leg of the tour has ended, but there are future performances in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, California, Illinois, Connecticut and Massachusetts, along with Canada. People interested in attending may visit us-tour.lesmis.com/tour-dates.

Cree-Silver went on to say that he is “appreciative to be able to bring Gavroche to life every night at just 9 years old.”
