KINGSBRIDGE, The Bronx (PIX11) — Halloween is such a fun time for neighborhoods to come together for a common goal: To have a good time dressing up for trick or treating.

PIX11 News was at a fun-filled Trick or Streets party in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx.

It was a parade of adorable and sometimes scary Halloween costumes in this fourth annual Trick or Streets program. It’s part of the New York City Department of Transportation’s Open Streets program.

The block of West 231st Street was closed to traffic for a six-hour Trick or Treat block party six days before Halloween.

“It’s about the community and a safe way to celebrate Halloween,” Shakir Seagers, CEO of Theory 9, a group that hosted the event, told PIX11 News.

There were balloon animals and face painting, scavenger hunts and costume contests, but perhaps the most fun, at least for me, was the hip-hop Halloween dance class.

The parents seemed to be having as much fun as the little people.

Organizers are already planning the fifth annual Trick or Street party for next year.
