KINGSBRIDGE, The Bronx (WABC) — Chaos outside a Bronx lounge led to the death of a 35-year-old woman. Authorities say a night out turned violent and now they are looking for the suspect behind it all.
Exclusive video shows the chaotic scene on East Kingsbridge Road early Sunday morning.
Witnesses say Mama Dora had just closed and the victim and her friends had gotten into an argument with another group inside the lounge, and that argument had spilled outside.
Police are looking for a man in a bright yellow jacket who walked out of the bar holding a bottle of beer in his left hand. Security was outside and at one point tried to calm things down.
The man in the yellow jacket then backed up and put the bottle on the ground and then lunged and ran back towards the crowd. A person was then seen swinging what looked like a bottle in his direction.
The brawl continued and some people scattered while others threw blows.
Seconds later, the man then carried out what appeared to be a stabbing motion. Some people in the group pulled him back and when he turned, he appeared to have something in his right hand and was wildly waving his arm.
An eyewitness says he was right there at the time and says the victim, who police say was stabbed several times in the chest, was trying to defend someone in her group.
“The woman that got stabbed went outside first with her man and then the other man they had trouble with came outside. The woman’s man made a signal and told another guy and then there was a scuffle,” he said.
The suspect then jumped on the scooter. The person who he initially walked out of the lounge with tried to stop him but could not.
