NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — If you find yourself skipping lunch breaks at work, this pop-up is for you.
Zoom, the company best known as the place for virtual work meetings, has launched a new speakeasy-style pop-up in New York City called the “Hard Stop Burger Shop.”

Aimed at encouraging New Yorkers to take back their lunch breaks, the pop-up opens from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and invites office workers to enjoy a unique lunch with blue burgers, tater tots and blue sauce. The event runs through Thursday and prospective workers looking to grab a bite can book a time slot online.
The pop-up comes as part of Zoom’s Take Bake Lunch campaign that seeks to help workers reclaim time in their day.
Research from the company Morning Consult on behalf of Zoom found that 60% of workers in the United States squeeze in a short lunch between meetings or tasks while 35% skip lunch at
least once a week. About three in four workers regularly eat at their desks while actively working.
Among those surveyed, 63% said heavy workloads were their main reasons for skipping a lunch break, while another 54% blamed meetings scheduled during break time. About 72% of people in the survey said they would rather skip lunch than eat on camera during a meeting.
The survey’s sample size of 1,047 workers was conducted between Feb. 17 and March 3 and included responses from people in New York City, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta and Denver.
