“A huge, massive tragedy for us, the family. He was a young man full of life, with many dreams, and he was doing well,” Maricela Zacharias, aunt of Darly Zacharias, said.

According to police, Zacharias was riding an e-bike eastbound on 125th Street when an SUV speeding in the bus lane slammed into him and another rider last week.

“My brother was incredibly kind. He was a hard worker his entire life. He always went back to work, never stopped working,” his sister Carolina Zacharias said.

In a matter of seconds, the driver hit multiple vehicles, including a parked NYPD car, before coming to a stop.

Zacharias leaves behind a young son.

“He robbed the 10-year-old boy [of] the chance to grow up with his father,” Maricela said.

“Can ask the mayor to immediately to create a Sammy Law, slow down and install daylighting here to protect us all from reckless and speeding drivers,” Kate Brockwehl, the co-chair of Families for Safe Streets New York, said.

According to police, the driver, 49-year-old Kevin Crosby, now faces manslaughter and DWI charges.

“He doesn’t realize the damage he caused,” Maricela said.

“I just want him to never, ever get out of prison. That’s all I’m asking for, nothing more,” Carolina said.
