PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) – The former owner of a New York animal shelter where upwards of 50 dogs were seized in 2024 was arrested this week for allegedly violating her probation.
Hilary Davis, 59, was convicted last year of torturing animals and forgery. She owned “A Canine Gem” in Beekmantown.
Davis took a plea agreement in January 2025 and avoided jail time.
She was arrested earlier this week for allegedly having 17 dogs in her care, a violation of her probation. She also allegedly crossed state lines.
