NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Manhattan Jaspers Baseball team (10-14, 4-8 MAAC) fell to the Warriors of Merrimack College (12-12, 7-5 MAAC) by a score of 13-1 at the Greater Lawrence Technical School Baseball Field on Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
In the top of the second inning, Andreaus Lewis got things started with a base knock into left field to push Colin Basehore ahead to second. Then, Justin Best added a single to load the bases.
In the third inning, Trevor Hansen led off with a single through the left side.
The Jaspers followed suit with a leadoff single up the middle from Vincent Samuel, followed by Andreaus Lewis posting his first hit of the day to push Basehore ahead to third once more.
In the top of the seventh, the Green and White got on the board courtesy of Hayden Jung-Goldberg crossing the plate, after he pinch ran for Lewis following his one-out walk.
STATS AND NOTES
Designated Hitter Andreaus Lewis logged a 2-for-2 afternoon, with one walk. Coming in to pinch run and score the lone Jasper run of the day was Hayden Jung-Goldberg, after Lewis logged his second at-bat in the seventh.
Infielder Vincent Samuel went 1-for-2 on the afternoon.
Outfielder Justin Best posted a 1-for-3 day, with one strikeout.
Infielder Trevor Hansen added two hits during his three at-bats, with the lone RBI registered.
