Washington, D.C. – (October 26, 2025) – The Fordham women’s soccer team took care of business on Sunday, posting a 4-0 shutout win at George Washington to clinch a berth in the 2025 Atlantic 10 Championship.
The win improved Fordham’s record to 10-6-2 overall, 5-4-1 in Atlantic 10, which will give the Rams the sixth seed at the Championship.
THE GAME
Fordham opened the scoring in the 21st minute, when Liina Tervo intercepted a clearance pass from the George Washington goalkeeper and found Salma Simonin for her second goal of the season, scoring inside the right post.
The Rams tacked on a second goal in the 37th minute. Tervo fought off a defender with the referee playing advantage to Riley Carroll, who scored her fourth goal of the season.
Right out of halftime, Fordham went ahead 3-0 on Julia Acosta’s 46th-minute goal, her fourth of the season, as she put back a rebound off an initial shot by Simonin.
Simonin then capped her best day as a Ram with her second goal of the game in the 49th minute.
GAME NOTES
Kyla King piled up four saves for the Rams over the first 83 minutes, while Sophia Mays had one save, as the duo posted the combined shutout.
