A person in Northern New York was shot and killed by police after allegedly shooting at state troopers.New York State Police said they were called to a home in the town of Diana in Lewis County on Friday for a reported trespass. That person, they said, was armed with a rifle and then fled the area.During their search, police located two burning vehicles, each containing the body of a deceased person inside.Police eventually tracked the suspect to a home on Alpine Road and established a perimeter. Additional troopers responded to help capture the suspect.The person later exited the home armed with a gun and shot at police. That suspect was shot and killed despite police attempts to revive them.The person has not been identified at this time.
