QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) — A dog was shot and killed by an NYPD officer on Monday night in Queens, according to police.
Police found a pit bull biting a woman at 4-14 Beach 58th St. in the Rockaways after reports came in of a dangerous animal, officials said.
One officer fired their weapon and shot the dog, according to police. The pit bull was killed, officials said.
The woman sustained a laceration to her arm and was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
Sources told PIX11 News that the dog belonged to the woman.
The investigation is ongoing.
