HEUVELTON, New York (WWNY) – A juvenile is accused of raping someone on Heuvelton Central School property.
The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office said it investigated a report of a sexual assault that happened at the school last Monday at 9 a.m.
The alleged victim reported that the incident was forceful and that it took place on school property.
Officials said a juvenile was charged with first-degree rape and has been scheduled to appear in county court.
The sheriff’s office did not say if the suspect and the alleged victim were students.
It also did not disclose exactly where on school property the incident allegedly happened.
Officials are withholding the suspect’s name.
7 News reached out to the school district’s superintendent for comment.
“We can confirm that we are aware of an incident that occurred on campus and are fully cooperating with and under the direction of the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office as they conduct their investigation. Because this is an ongoing investigation, we are unable to share additional details at this time,” said Superintendent Jesse Coburn in a prepared statement.
