Police said Julio C. Sosa, 29, of the Bronx, fled custody at the New York State Police barracks in Brewster at around 4 p.m. Friday.

The New York State Police in Brewster are actively searching for Julio C. Sosa, 29, of Bronx, New York, who fled from the Brewster barracks Friday afternoon.

Sosa was in custody for a nonviolent larceny charge. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and pants, with a hot pink coat.

Police say Sosa does not currently pose a threat to the public.
