NEW YORK CITY — The James Beard Foundation on Tuesday released its list of finalists for its 2026 awards which includes a number of New York City restaurants and chefs.

In the Outstanding Restaurant category, The Four Horseman in Brooklyn was named a finalist.

Restaurant picks are determined by consistent excellence in food, atmosphere, hospitality, and operations.

In the Emerging Chef category, Rasheeda Purdie from Ramen by Ra in Manhattan was named a finalist.

The foundation looks for chefs who display exceptional talent, character, and leadership ability, and who is likely to make a significant impact in years to come.

Lei NYC in Chinatown made the list of Best New Restaurants.
