There’s nothing like a warm and sunny spring day to make me yearn for summer. Even though it’s been years since I’ve enjoyed a “summer break” like a kid out of school, it’s still a time I remember fondly.

In fact, I used to take classes at a dance studio across the street from a Dairy Queen. My friends and I would pile together crumpled-up dollar bills and random change and get as many Dilly Bars as we could afford. We’d sit on the grassy area between parking lots, soaking up the sun and wiping chocolate off our faces in between classes.

This is how summertime and Dairy Queen became inextricably linked in my mind. Sure, I’m not scarfing down Dilly Bars in a leotard anymore, but the joy of that experience remains! Which is why I get very excited every time DQ announces its summer menu—and this year is no different. We are being blessed by a new Dairy Queen Blizzard and the early return of two fan-favorites.

What’s on Dairy Queen’s summer menu?

First, I know it’s barely spring, and this is technically a “Countdown to Summer” menu. I will take anything I can that invokes more daylight and warmer weather. Here’s what you can order from this new menu:

Strawberry Angel Food Cake Blizzard: This is a brand-new Blizzard treat that combines all the things you love about the classic dessert with that creamy DQ soft serve. It has pieces of angel food cake alongside real strawberries, and it’s even finished off with whipped topping.
S’mores Blizzard: Yes, I’m editorializing, but this is by far the best Blizzard flavor. It’s making a comeback for a reason! Marshmallow-filled chocolate bars and crunchy graham crackers are blended with vanilla soft serve. If Dairy Queen ever sold those little marshmallow chocolate pieces, I’d buy them out of stock.
Cotton Candy Blizzard: At the other end of fun summer flavors is the sweet pink cotton candy Blizzard. It’s full of candy pieces and has that signature airy vanilla flavor that is so reminiscent of a summertime carnival.

When will Dairy Queen’s summer menu be available?

Perhaps the greatest news of all is that you can get all three of these Blizzard Treats at participating Dairy Queen locations right now. Yes, that’s correct: You are only a quick walk or drive away from having one of these summertime favorites. Whether you want a little post-lunch pick-me-up or are craving a sweet dessert, they are absolutely perfect. There is no telling how long these Blizzards will stick around, but my money says they’ll be here for a while since they were released so early in the spring.
