Megan Thee Stallion was taken to a New York City hospital after leaving a performance of “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” mid-show Tuesday.

A spokesperson for the singer told CBS News New York in a statement, “During Tuesday night’s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated. We will share additional updates as more information becomes available.”

The 31-year-old performer made her Broadway debut last week, taking over the role of Zidler. She made history as the first woman to play the character.

As of now, Megan Thee Stallion is scheduled to remain in the cast through May 17.

“Moulin Rouge! The Musical” opened on Broadway in 2019 and went on to win 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The show is set to close on July 26.

The musical is currently on tour across the United States, and additional productions have opened and are planned around the world, from London to Australia to Japan.
