On March 30, 2026, New York State Police charged Steven J. Robinson, age 30, of Brasher Falls, with Assault in the 3rd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

On March 25, 2026, at approximately 4:04 p.m., troopers responded to Dullea Road in the town of Brasher for a reported domestic dispute. An investigation determined that on March 24, 2026, Robinson became upset and allegedly grabbed a 9-year-old victim by the throat, kicked the child’s feet out from under them, and struck the child’s head against a wooden shelf, causing visible bruising.

The incident was reported the following day by the victim and the child’s mother. Following an active investigation, Robinson was arrested and transported to SP Massena for processing. He was subsequently released on an appearance ticket, returnable to the Town of Brasher Court at a later date in April.
