NEW YORK (WENY) — Anglers across New York State are gearing up for the first day of trout season on Wednesday.
Spring trout season in New York begins annually on April 1. The Department of Environmental Conservation has been stocking creeks, streams and lakes across the region with brook, brown and rainbow trout.
The agency has a trout fishing map on its website, as well as information about state regulations.
As a reminder, a fishing license is required. They can be purchased at a license issuing agent location, by phone or online.
