Longwood Fish Market has opened at 903 Columbus Avenue (between 104th and 105th streets), which was previously home to Moon Fish Market. Thanks to Dave Cook at Eating In Translation for the tip and photo.

“Like its predecessor, Longwood Fish Market is primarily a takeout restaurant for fried, grilled, and steamed seafood, as well as a few Mexican seafood dishes such as tacos, tostadas, soups, and salads,” Cook tells us. “According to a counterwoman, it’s related to a well-established business, with the same name, in the Longwood neighborhood of the Bronx.”

Ayat Hinds Hall has soft-opened at 941 Amsterdam Avenue (at the corner of West 106th Street). Thanks to Dave Cook at Eating In Translation for the tip and photo (he also tells us that while the restaurant will not serve alcohol, guests may BYOB.) Here’s our previous article about Ayat.

Signage for Farmer’s Market Cafe is up at 700 Columbus Avenue at the southwest corner of 95th Street (thanks to Jennifer Allen for the tip and photo). Per exterior signage, the shop will offer smoothies, juices, sandwiches, salads, breakfast, lunch and açaí (bowls, we presume). The space was previously home to Kumon.

Effy’s Cafe has opened a new location at 552 Columbus Avenue (between 86th and 87th streets), though all Effy’s outposts will be closed for Passover until April 10, a store employee tells us. It is the cafe’s second Upper West Side location, joining the original at 104 West 96th Street and a Upper East Side outpost at 1688 York Avenue. The menu is still being finalized, an employee said — though we were originally told the Columbus Avenue spot would primarily be a grab-and-go kosher pastry cafe.
