The New York show has a lot to offer new car shoppers and enthusiasts alike, but the latter might be especially interested in the wide array of classic and performance cars on display. As soon as you enter, visitors are greeted with classics ranging from a 1935 Auburn 852 Speedster to resto-modded Lancia 037 rally cars. On the upper floor, many manufacturers have joined in, and you can spy a 1958 Chevrolet Bel Air and, on the Fiat stand, an original 1962 Fiat 500D. If you think the new one is small, you’ll marvel at how tiny the original is.

The lower level hosts the R2X Rides & Rigs Expo, which blends classic cars, performance machinery and off-road rigs. You can find classic International Scouts, vintage police cars, tiny Kei cars from Japan and a host of classic Datsun, Toyota and Mazda performance cars. Of special note are Toyota AE86s, a car made famous by the anime “Initial D.” Actor Sung Kang, of “Fast and Furious” fame, is promoting his new film, Drifter, at the show and the hero car is an AE86.
