BROWNSVILLE, Brooklyn (WABC) — Six people were injured after fire seared through the first floor of a Brownsville, Brooklyn home.
Flames broke out at 42 Lott Avenue off Herzl Street just before 5 a.m. on Thursday morning.
Wind carried smoke through the neighborhood as the blaze raged.
Six people were rushed to nearby hospitals. Five had minor injuries, with one person seriously injured.
Fire marshals are working to determine the cause of the fire.
