Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen seems to be gearing up for a major career move.

There has been a ton of speculation as to whether the Pittsburgh Steelers are considering moving on from linebacker Patrick Queen this offseason, and now the veteran has made a move the adds even more uncertainty to his future.

Queen has reportedly changed agents ahead of the 2026 season.

While this move could mean nothing, players typically make agency changes when they are preparing to either get paid or be traded, both of which could be outcomes for Queen in the near future.

Queen, 26, is entering the final year of his three-year, $41 million contract he signed in 2024. However, many do not believe he has played up to the deal.

Since joining Pittsburgh, Queen has recorded 249 tackles, two sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 11 passes defensed.

The Steelers have also reportedly been fielding trade calls for Queen, and while they have not outright rejected the idea of trading him, no trade has come together to this point, either.

To add more speculation, the team is now on the hook for an additional $2.5 million in a roster bonus, nearly assuring that Queen will be on the Steelers for the 2026 season.

Of course, that can change if Pittsburgh finds a replacement for Queen and the team receives an offer it can’t refuse, but that seems far less likely to happen now.

Queen is set to count for $17.2 million against the Steelers’ salary cap in 2026 and they would incur a $6.4 million dead cap hit while saving just $10.8 million in cap space if he were to be traded.

A first-round pick (No. 28 overall) in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens, Queen has recorded 703 tackles, 15.5 sacks, eight forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries, 26 passes defensed and four interceptions in his professional career.
