A man was shot and killed by police who were executing a warrant Thursday morning in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx.
It happened around 7:15 a.m. at 105 Willis Avenue, between Bruckner Boulevard and East 132nd Street.
The man was identified a 44-year-old Lucien Colon.
According to police, officers were executing an arrest warrant when Colon allegedly reached for a weapon. Officers opened fire, striking him multiple times.
He was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators say Colon is a sex offender with multiple prior arrests.
Authorities say he had an active parole warrant and an active bench warrant for failing to meet his reporting requirements as a New York State sex offender.
The NYPD is urging residents to avoid the area of East 132 Street and Bruckner Boulevard due to an active investigations. Officials say to expect delays and heavy traffic in the surrounding area.
