MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – Riley County police were investigating an incident in which a man was bilked out of more than $1,000 by individuals posing as federal agents, officials say.
The fraud case was reported around 3:11 p.m. Friday in the 1000 block of Westloop Place.

According to Riley County police, an 87-year-old man was listed as the victim in the case when it was reported that unknown individuals who falsely identified themselves as federal agents threatened to close his bank account if he didn’t pay them.
The total estimated loss in the case was listed at $1,250.
