JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Redshirt sophomore outfielder Carter White delivered a go-ahead grand slam in the fifth inning to propel North Florida to a win over Queens, 5-2, at Harmon Stadium on Friday.

Queens opened the scoring with two runs in the top of the fifth frame, though North Florida responded with five unsanswered runs starting with White’s grand slam.

Redshirt junior utility player Jackson Schrafft scored on a wild pitch to add an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Schrafft’s run brought the score to its eventual final margin.

Redshirt junior left-handed pitcher Dakota Stone notched a solid start on the mound for the Ospreys. Stone dealt 5.0 innings and recorded seven strikeouts without allowing an earned run. He allowed just two hits against 22 batters faced and lowered his ERA to 2.45.

Senior right-handed pitcher Brandon Adams entered in relief of Stone and was dominant in his outing. Adams earned a save and tallied a career-high seven strikeouts in 4.0 shutout innings while allowing just two hits and one walk. He lowered his ERA to 2.93.
