An unidentified moped rider was clinging to life Saturday after a grisly crash in Brooklyn, in which pieces of his mangled vehicle tore a hole in the victim’s skull, according to police and horrified witnesses.

Cops were trying to identify the man on the moped, who had no identification on him when he crashed into an SUV near the corner of Hinsdale St. and Pitkin Ave. in Brownsville around 5:20 a.m. Saturday.

The moped rider was traveling west on Pitkin Ave. when he struck the driver’s SUV, which was traveling south on Hinsdale St.

EMS rushed the victim to Brookdale University Hospital, where he remained in critical condition but wasn’t expected to survive.

Sources with knowledge of the incident said that a piece of debris from the crash hit the victim, leaving him with a hole in his head. A police spokesman confirmed the victim suffered severe head trauma during the crash.

The 39-year-old SUV driver remained at the scene. No arrest was immediately filed.
