The holiday season in New York City is picking up steam with the selection of the 2025 Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.

This year, the Norway Spruce will come from East Greenbush, New York, located around three hours outside of the city. The tree will be cut on Nov. 6 and will arrive at Rockefeller Center on Nov. 8.

The tree, donated by the Russ family, stands 75 feet tall and weighs 11 tons, and is approximately 75 years old. After it arrives in the city, the tree will be wrapped with more than 50,000 multi-colored, energy-efficient LED lights and then crowned with a Swarovski star. The tree will be lit on Wednesday, Dec. 3, during the live broadcast of “Christmas in Rockefeller Center.”

The tree will be on display until mid-January 2026, after which the tree will be milled into lumber for Habitat for Humanity.
