HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac softball team dropped their first home game of the season, falling to Manhattan 5-1 on Saturday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
After three scoreless innings, Manhattan struck first with a two-run single before adding another run on a Quinnipiac error to take a 3-0 lead.

The Bobcats got on the board in the fifth inning on Aryn Bombery’s sacrifice fly to score Ally Hochstadter, cutting the deficit to two.

Manhattan responded in the sixth with a two-run home run to extend its lead to 5-1 and held on the rest of the way.

Shannon Kendall allowed four earned runs on nine hits while striking out two. The sophomore finished the weekend 1-1.

Sofia Vega has recorded a hit in 12 of her last 14 games, including seven multi-hit performances.
Vega, Mary Fogg, and Ally Hochstadter registered all four hits for the Bobcats in today’s contest.
Hochstadter recorded her third double of the season.
Fogg extends her hit streak to four games.
Aryn Bombery recorded her 18th RBI of the season.
Shannon Kendall pitched her 10th complete game, moving to 12-7 on the season.
