The New York State Police are investigating the death of a Brasher Falls man following the discovery of an unresponsive individual in a wooded area earlier this morning.
On April 5, 2026, at approximately 7:21 a.m., State Police responded to a wooded area near 34 Church Street in the village of Brasher Falls for a report of a possible deceased individual. The report was made after a pedestrian walking in the area located an unresponsive male.
The deceased has been identified as Nicolas A. Lecuyer, age 36, of Brasher Falls, who had previously been reported missing.
At this time, the investigation remains ongoing. Preliminary findings indicate there are no signs of foul play, and there is no threat to the public.
The St. Lawrence County Coroner responded to the scene and authorized the removal of the body. An autopsy will be conducted at a later date to determine the official cause of death.
