The New York Giants‘ preparation for the 2026 NFL draft is in full swing.
The draft is just under three weeks away. The Giants have seven picks in 2026, starting with the No. 5 overall selection in the first round. There has been considerable speculation about which direction New York will take with the fifth overall pick when the draft begins.
Art Stapleton of USA TODAY reports that the Giants began preparing for the draft on April 2 with their entire scouting staff on hand.
The Giants have several needs that they will have the opportunity to address on draft day. Team brass bears the responsibility of sifting through the pool of prospects to find solutions for the holes on their roster, with wide receiver, defensive tackle, and offensive guard among the primary areas of need.
New York’s personnel did their due diligence at Pro Days around the nation in the lead-up to the draft. General manager Joe Schoen will have the remaining 17 days before the draft begins to finalize game plans for how the franchise will approach each of its selections.
