STATEN ISLAND, NY — The Community Agency for Senior Citizens will recognize one of its most dedicated volunteers when Olga “Ollie” Gaeta receives the Pillar of Service Award at the organization’s upcoming fundraiser.
CASC will present the honor during its Harvest Brunch & Autumn Laughs event on Nov. 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at LiGreci’s Staaten in West Brighton.

Gaeta, widow of former Staten Island Borough President Anthony R. Gaeta, has established herself as a community champion through decades of volunteer service. The 1995 Staten Island Advance Woman of Achievement has contributed to numerous local organizations including the American Cancer Society, the Inter-Agency Council for the Aging, Sea View Hospital Rehabilitation Center and Home, and the Staten Island Botanical Garden.
Her volunteer work extends to Soroptimist International, the Snug Harbor Cultural Center, the Alice Austen House, the Visiting Nurse Association, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Gaeta remains active in the Rosary Altar Society of Holy Family R.C. Church in Westerleigh and serves on the boards of both Meals on Wheels and CASC.
The fundraising event will feature entertainment by stand-up comedian Moody McCarthy, a New York-based performer who has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O’Brien, and David Letterman. McCarthy has been praised for his “disarming presence and in-the-moment chops.”
CASC, founded in 1974, provides support, referral, and information services to older adults living on Staten Island.
