NYPD officer adopts kitty after rescuing it from under food truck

Officer Frank Squillante scooped the kitty to safety and fell quickly in love.

An officer with the famously tough New York Police Department became smitten with a kitten after saving it from underneath a food truck.

The rescue happened on Oct. 9 in Midtown Manhattan, according to police.

Footage from NYPD News shows officers responding to reports of meows coming from underneath a food truck on Madison Avenue.

After finding the tiny kitten sitting on one of the truck’s wheels, Officer Frank Squillante scooped the cat out safely, and fell quickly in love.

“Everyone was pretty much telling me that the cat finds you, you don’t find the cat,” Squillante told amNewYork. “It was a sign that we are meant to be connected together.”

Squillante wasn’t the only officer besotted with the cat. Bodycam footage here shows the rescue, as well as the kitty being showered with compliments in the squad car afterwards.
