QUEEN VALLEY, AZ (AZFamily) — A man is dead after a fiery wrong-way crash on U.S. 60 east of the Valley Saturday morning.
Just before 7:30 a.m., state troopers responded to the two-car crash on US 60 near El Camino Viejo, which is near the community of Queen Valley located between Gold Canyon and Superior.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the wrong-way driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He’s since been identified as 19-year-old Edwin Orlando Martinez-Caudillo of Mexico.
The other driver wasn’t seriously hurt, DPS says.
The roadway was closed for several hours as authorities investigated the crash and cleared the scene. It reopened about six hours later.
UPDATE: Eastbound US 60 is now OPEN near Queen Valley (MP 209).
