A grand jury on Tuesday indicted 21-year-old Amuri Greene and 18-year-old Matthew Rodriguez on second-degree murder in connection to Kaori Patterson-Moore’s death

Prosecutors said they believe Patterson-Moore was not the intended target when Greene, riding on a moped driven by Rodriguez, allegedly fired a gun toward the baby, her parents and at least two other children in broad daylight in Williamsburg on April 1

Greene’s attorney appeared on his behalf in Brooklyn Supreme Court on Tuesday waiving any requests for bail

Prosecutors said they believe Patterson-Moore was not the intended target when Greene, riding on a moped driven by Rodriguez, allegedly fired a gun toward the baby, her parents and at least two other children in broad daylight in Williamsburg on April 1.

After the two men were indicted Tuesday, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez spoke to reporters about the case.

“Not only was a 7-month-old girl stolen from us, but she was not the intended target when these gunmen driving by on a scooter recklessly shot into a crowd intending to kill another person,” Gonzalez said. “They will be held fully accountable.”

Greene’s attorney appeared on his behalf in Brooklyn Supreme Court on Tuesday, waiving any requests for bail.

Greene faces three counts of second-degree murder, one count of attempted murder, first-degree reckless endangerment, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and several weapons charges, according to prosecutors.

He pleaded not guilty to the DA’s charges last week, but has not yet entered a plea on the grand jury indictment.

Rodriguez remains in custody in Pennsylvania, where he was arrested after the shooting. The DA’s office said he also faces the top charge of second-degree murder.

Prosecutors said the two suspects fled the scene on the moped. Greene was arrested the day after the shooting.

The DA expects Rodriguez to be extradited from Pennsylvania by next week and to be arraigned in Brooklyn Supreme Court.

Greene is due back in court in July.
