A restaurant in Manhattan seeks donations from a GoFund Me account to reopen its doors. After closing on March 15th, customers started the account. In three weeks, the restaurant has raised $19,400 of $75,000, or 26% of the goal. Under GoFund Me regulations, recipients do not receive funds unless the requested total is met.

Parkside Station has been open for two years and closed due to unexpected building costs and family medical expenses. It’s owned by mother and daughter duo, Phyllis and Hannah Pease, who also own Little Batch Company located next door to the Poyntz Avenue and 11th Street. The Bakery remains open.

Parkside Station is a former Conoco station and remains on the National Historic Registry. It operated as a full-service gas station from the 1960s, it later fell into disrepair until the Peases applied for historical tax credits to have the building restored.
