COURTHOUSE,
April 8 – A man charged
with selling fentanyl in
Washington Heights in March
2025 is up for sentencing in
the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York on April 13. He is asking
for time served. Inner City
Press is covering the
case.

He pled guilty in
October 2025. His sentencing
memo acknowledges that he does
not have legal status in the
US, having entered in 2022
from the Dominican Republic on
a travel visa.

But, it says, he
was not the ring leader and is
eligible for the safety valve
under Section 3553. He has
worked for DoorDash, Grubhub,
Uber Eats and Walmart
Delivery. He faces removal
from the USA.

 The case is
USA v. Rodriguez Medina,
1:25-cr-458 (Hellerstein)
