UTICA, N.Y. — Boaters are being advised to stay off the New York State Canal System as it is not yet open for the season.
According to an advisory, high water levels on Seneca Lake, Cayuga Lake, Cross Lake, Onondaga Lake, Oneida Lake, Seneca River, Oneida River and the Oswego River are making navigation unsafe.
The advisory highlights that hidden shorelines and debris, along with the risk of property and environmental damage from boat wakes, are major concerns during these high-water conditions.
