RED HOOK — THE BROOKLYN MARINE TERMINAL PLAN is now in the “scoping phase” of the city’s environmental review process. An in-person scoping hearing will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 6 p.m. at the Joseph Miccio Cornerstone Community Center Gym, 110 W. Ninth St., Red Hook. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide three minutes of public testimony. Register online on Eventbrite.
A repeat scoping hearing will be held virtually on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 4 p.m. via Zoom. A third, in-person scoping hearing has been scheduled for Dec. 1, 6 p.m. at 125 Summit St. The public comment period, originally set to end Nov. 10, will now be extended to Dec. 11.
The BMT Task Force’s vote on Sept. 22 gave the go-ahead to the controversial $3.5 billion redevelopment of the 122-acre maritime site stretching along the East River from Atlantic Avenue to Red Hook.
