A massive investigation is underway at Grand Central Station after cops shot a suspect who stabbed two people at the transit hub on Saturday morning.
Published reports indicated the stabbing occurred just before 10 a.m. on April 11 on the 4/5/6 line, within the confines of NYPD Transit District 4.
Based on a preliminary investigation, sources tell amNewYork that the suspect stabbed two people during an assault on the uptown platform. One of the victims was observed with a serious laceration to their head.
Police then confronted the suspect and ordered him to drop the knife he held, according to reports. Seconds later, cops opened fire, striking the perpetrator.
Trains on the 4/5/6 line are bypassing Grand Central Station as the investigation continues.
Officers were observed combing the platform where the stabbing and shooting occurred. A machete was spotted at the scene.Â
