Songstress and New York native Mariah Carey put her Tribeca penthouse up for sale, according to real estate brokers at the Mercedes Berk Team on Sunday.
The Grammy Award-winning music legend may sing about not wanting much for Christmas, but she does, in fact, want $27 million for her luxury three-story condo located at 90 Franklin St. According to the listing, the breathtaking home features nearly 13,000 square feet of interior space, a private outdoor area and sweeping 360-degree views of Lower Manhattan.
“Originally designed by Mario Buatta and formerly home to Mariah Carey, the residence carries both design pedigree and cultural cachet,” the detailed listing reads. “Four exposures fill the home with light throughout the day, while the private roof terrace, complete with an indoor/outdoor room and a fireplace, sets the stage for quiet mornings and landmark evenings.”
It also boasts eight bedrooms, six full bathrooms and three half-baths as part of a 17-room total, perfect for any New Yorker who wants to enjoy the diva lifestyle.

“The layout is equally compelling in its flexibility: the 16th floor can function independently, while the 17th and 18th floors form a distinct upper duplex crowned by the terrace,” the listing continues. “Enjoy it as one expansive private home or reimagine it as an exceptional blank canvas for a developer or design-minded buyer.”
Luxury real estate in NYC
The “Glitter” star is not the only Big Apple homeowner to relocate lately. Last week, dozens of expensive homes over $4 million were sold in NYC, up from the week before and last year, according to the Mercedes Berk Team, for a total of $390 million in total deal volume.
The number of contracts signed was up 17% from the 30 contracts signed last week (March 28 to April 3), and up 6% from the 33 contracts signed during the same period last year. There were 1,447 luxury units priced $4 million and more actively on the market, with 95 new listings added last week (April 4 to10). 37% (13) of this week’s luxury contracts were last asking more than $10 million, the real estate pros reported.
