A CAR IS seen crashed into a wall at East Fordham Road tunnel at Southern Boulevard in the Belmont section of The Bronx on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

One person was treated at the scene of an apparent one-vehicle accident in the Belmont section of the Bronx close to the Bronx Zoo on Sunday, April 12, EMS officials said.
One car was seen in video posted to social media crashed into a wall in the tunnel on East Fordham Road and Southern Boulevard, with the NYPD and an ambulance on scene.

When contacted, an FDNY / EMS spokesperson said the departments received a 911 call at 4.09 p.m. on Sunday for a report of a car crash at the location. They said one civilian was evaluated on scene by EMS and refused medical attention and the incident was closed at 5.02 p.m.
When Norwood News visited the scene at around 6.45 p.m., neither the crashed car nor police / EMS were still at the location.

When contacted, the NYPD said they received a call at 4.09 p.m. for a report of the accident which they said was a single-vehicle one at 4.09 p.m. under the bridge with the car colliding with the wall under the overpass. They said there were no arrests, no injuries listed, and the driver requested a tow truck.

As reported, FDNY were called to East 204th Street and Mosholu Parkway on Saturday night, April 11, after a child got locked inside a car.
There were minor injuries reported after a two vehicle crash on the Grand Concourse in the Bedford Park section of The Bronx on March 30.

Fifteen people were injured following a bus collision in the Edenwald section of The Bronx on Friday, April 10, EMS officials said.
As reported, a 32-year-old man died following a bus-motorcycle collision outside Tracey Towers also in the Bedford Park section of The Bronx on Wednesday, April 8.
Prior to this, as reported, three people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle car crash on West Gun Hill Road in Norwood on March 17, St. Patrick’s Day, no injuries were reported following a three-vehicle crash on the Major Deegan Expressway on Sunday, March 22, while two people were hospitalized following a single-vehicle collision in Norwood on Jerome Avenue and Mosholu Parkway the same day.
