1. Sanders joins Mamdani at rally marking 100 days in office
Mayor Zohran Mamdani held a campaign-style rally in Queens Sunday night to mark 100 days in office, touting the accomplishments of his administration so far.
He also looked towards future priorities including plans to speed up city buses, open city-run grocery stores and containerize all residential trash by 2031. Towards the end of the rally, he was joined by progressive Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
2. Man fatally shot by police after slashing 3 people at Grand Central: NYPD
Police shot and killed a man after he slashed three people on two subway platforms at Grand Central station Saturday morning, the NYPD said.
A civilian flagged down officers at the station in Midtown around 9:40 a.m., saying a man armed with a knife had just stabbed several people, Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said at a news briefing. All three victims were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
