FORT GREENE, Brooklyn (WABC) — Police are searching for a 16-year-old boy wanted in the shooting death of his stepfather in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.
The shooting happened just before 11 a.m. Sunday inside the Walt Whitman Houses on Cumberland Walk. Police say the teenager got into a dispute with his stepfather, 43-year-old Jamel Davis, over smoking inside the apartment.
During the argument, investigators say the teen shot Davis in the torso. Davis was rushed to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The suspect fled the scene and remains on the loose.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact police.
