HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN CO. (WOLF) — A New York man will serve time in prison after admitting to a widespread identity theft scheme that targeted liquor stores across multiple Pennsylvania counties.

Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that 26-year-old Eugene Antwi, of Brooklyn, was sentenced in Dauphin County to 4 to 23 months behind bars, followed by two years of probation. He was also ordered to repay more than $66,000.

Investigators say Antwi used stolen credit and debit card information, along with fake identities, to place more than 200 online orders for high-end liquor. Authorities say he later picked up those purchases in person at state-run Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores across 21 counties.

Much of the activity was concentrated in Philadelphia and surrounding suburban counties, though officials say the scheme stretched across a wide portion of the state.

The thefts occurred between August 2023 and September 2024 and included expensive brands such as Johnnie Walker Scotch and Don Julio tequila.

According to prosecutors, the volume of alcohol purchased far exceeded what would be considered personal use, raising red flags that ultimately led to the investigation.

The case was the result of a joint effort between the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and state police, with support from a statewide investigating grand jury.

Officials say Antwi’s actions not only impacted individual victims but also defrauded the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, which oversees alcohol sales in the state.

Authorities emphasized that the investigation required coordination across multiple jurisdictions due to the number of counties involved.
