MALONE, N.Y. (WCAX) – Authorities are investigating three separate homicides at state prisons in Northern New York.
The first happened on April 6 at the Upstate Correctional Facility in Malone. Troopers say Michael Campbell, 51, was found strangled to death by his cellmate, Andrew Hernandez, 42.
Another deadly fight happened on April 7 at the Riverview Correctional in Ogdensburg. Police say Lawrence Brown, 34, later died from his injuries after a fight with Ollie Jackson, 29.
And on April 10 at the Gouverneur Correctional, Shaun Bennett, 45, was found dead in his cell after a fight with his cellmate, Savon O’Neal, 32.
Charges against all three suspects are pending.
