Students of the Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx on Tuesday, April 14, the conservatory announced in a news release. The conservatory is a non-profit college, founded in 2018, that aims to “provide exemplary arts education to aspiring artists and students, positively impact the local community of arts, and create connections within the music, theatre and television/film worlds,” according to its mission statement

The performance will feature 29 students and will be held before the New York Yankees face the Los Angeles Angels.

“Our students don’t just study the performing arts—they live, eat and breathe them,” musical director Fred Feeney said in a news release. “Performing the National Anthem at Yankee Stadium, in an arrangement honoring America’s 250th birthday, is exactly the kind of transcendent opportunity that defines an education at The Norwalk Conservatory.”

The performance by the Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts isn’t the only slice of Connecticut that visitors to Yankee Stadium can find. The Stamford-founded pizza chain Colony Grill has a location at the stadium.
