NYC Will Give Free Bike Helmets And Lights To Cyclists

NEW YORK, NY — The City will distribute free bike helmets and lights for residents throughout April, May and June.

Events are scheduled in parks, playgrounds and major cycling corridors, including locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island. In addition to helmets, the city will distribute bike lights at evening events along popular bike paths and bridges.

Supplies will be available on a first-come basis, and events will proceed weather permitting. Additional dates are expected to be announced.
